Four ways to keep what matters where you are already looking. A note cannot enforce a rule; it makes the rule impossible to not see.
Max loss, no trades before the open, wait for the close: pinned to the screen in red, in view every second of the session. You can still break the rule, but you cannot claim you did not see it.
Anchor a note to yesterday’s high or a supply zone. It stays glued to that price as you scroll and zoom, with the reason you care about it written right there.

Add StickyNotes to any chart from the Indicators list and a row of color buttons appears in the chart toolbar — most traders are done in under a minute. Click a color button in the chart toolbar, then click the chart where the note should go. Or right-click the chart, choose Add note here and pick a color. Click the note to type; clicking anywhere else keeps the text. Escape cancels a placement or an edit you changed your mind about.
Yes. Notes are saved with the chart in your workspace, so they survive closing the chart and restarting NinjaTrader. If you would rather start clean every time, switch on Delete notes when chart closes in the settings.
An anchored note belongs to a bar and a price: scroll or zoom and it moves with the chart, which is what you want for a level or a trade. A pinned note keeps its place on the screen whatever the chart does, which is what you want for the day’s rules. Every note shows an A or an M in its corner, and one click switches it.
Minimize them. A minimized note becomes a small icon in one of eight shapes — circle, square, triangle, diamond, pentagon, hexagon, star or pin — hover it to read the first line, click it to open it again. New notes can start minimized if you drop many quick markers.
Right-click the chart: Restore deleted notes brings back the last five deletions, and Undo Delete all brings back everything the Delete all button removed.
The size of new notes, from a preset or in pixels; the font and its size; the background opacity; the border and its thickness; the icon shape; which color buttons the toolbar shows, their size, their color and whether they say the color name, an initial or a number.
No. It draws a handful of rectangles and text and does nothing on each bar. If your chart ever lags with it on, email us: that’s a bug, not normal.
