You might ask: why is this free, what is the catch? There is none. We want to change the market for third-party NinjaTrader tools, and giving our work away is part of how we do it.

Four ways traders use one small panel. None of them is a signal; the entries, the stops and the discipline are still yours.
On tick and time charts, when a setup confirms on the close, the top row shows how long, or how many ticks, until this bar is final. No more acting on a candle that flips in its last seconds.
On a tick chart, ticks left is the clock. A handful left in a fast market means the bar is about to print; plenty left means there is time to wait.
On a tick chart the bar count is a straight read on activity: far more bars than usual at this hour means a fast tape. On a range chart it shows how much price has moved.
The range row shows how far apart the session high and low already are, kept up to date as the session runs, without doing the math.

Download the zip, then in NinjaTrader 8 go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On and pick the file. Add it to any chart from the Indicators list, where it is called TickTimeRangeBarCounter — most traders are done in under a minute. It picks by itself. On a tick chart: the ticks left before the bar closes (label TICKS). On a minute or second chart: a countdown to the close (label TIME), in minutes and seconds, with hours on longer bars. On range, volume, Renko and other chart types no one can know when the bar will close, because that depends on what price and volume do next, so it shows how many ticks have built the current bar so far (label BAR TICKS).
It shows --:-- instead of a time it cannot be sure of: on historical data before the chart is live, in Market Replay (the replay clock is not the real clock), and for the one repeated hour when daylight saving ends. It also needs NinjaTrader’s time zone in Tools → Options → General left on System Default; any other setting is not supported, and the countdown usually blanks rather than showing a time.
By default at the session start of your chart’s trading hours template. Switch Session Type to Calendar Day and they reset at midnight instead, which is also the better choice for multi-day Market Replay. The range is the session high minus the session low, with 0 to 4 decimals (2 by default). Load enough days on the chart that today’s session start is included, or the bar count and the range only cover the part of the session that is on the chart.
On a tick chart it estimates the ticks left straight away, never shows 0 before the bar really closes, and is exact from the next bar. On a time chart the countdown is right from the first tick after you add it. On range, volume and Renko charts the row shows --- until the next bar starts, rather than a made-up number.
Each row can be switched off or renamed (up to 32 characters). Pick one of nine fonts at size 8 to 24, any of the four corners with an offset of up to 200 px, a Grid box or a rounded box without the divider, and a box opacity from 10 to 100% that leaves the text fully readable. Label text, value text, both backgrounds and the border each take their own color. Leave the top label as TICKS and it switches to TIME or BAR TICKS by itself; type anything else and your text stays.
No. It draws one small panel, and on time charts the countdown only redraws the chart when the number on it changes, about once a second. If your chart ever lags with it on, email us: that’s a bug, not normal.
